When an individual’s civil rights have been violated the individual as well as the community feel as if their trust and confidence has been undermined. Law Enforcement officers are given a tremendous about of authority and discretion; however, they are not above the law. Officers who engage in police brutality should be held responsible and an example should be made out of them that this behavior is not acceptable.
